In Aljustrel you will be able to visit the homes of the three shepherd children, Lúcia Santos and her cousins Francisco and Jacinta Marto, who reported seeing apparitions of the Virgin Mary in 1917.
Today, the houses have been restored and are open and are part of the pilgrimage route to Fátima.
Near the shepherds houses, Valinhos sanctuary is a unique site, where OurLady of Fátima appeared to the shepherds in August 19th. There is the Sacred Way with the Stations of the Cross and a small chappel at the end of it.
